Crafting Tomorrow's Living Spaces Today
Look, we're not gonna throw fancy jargon at you - we're just a group of architects who genuinely care about making spaces that people actually wanna live and work in. Started back in 2012 with three friends in a cramped Queen West loft, we've grown into something pretty special.
What sets us apart? We don't follow trends blindly. Every project starts with a simple question: how's this gonna make someone's day better? Whether it's a family home or a commercial complex, we're obsessed with the details that matter - natural light, flow, that feeling you get when a space just works.
These days, sustainability isn't optional for us. It's built into everything we do, from material selection to energy planning. But here's the thing - green design doesn't mean boring boxes. We've proven time and again that eco-friendly can be stunning.
From a small studio to a full-fledged architecture practice
Three architecture grads pooled their savings and rented a tiny space on Queen West. Armed with laptops, way too much coffee, and a shared vision for better design.
Landed our first commercial project - a mixed-use development in Leslieville. That's when we knew we could compete with the big firms while keeping our unique approach.
Shifted our entire practice towards sustainable design. Got our LEED certifications and started incorporating passive design strategies into every single project.
Opened our urban planning division and doubled our team. Started taking on larger-scale projects while never losing sight of what made us different in the first place.
The folks who started it all
Co-Founder & Principal Architect
Alex brings 15 years of experience in sustainable design. He's the guy who'll sketch ideas on napkins during lunch and somehow turn them into award-winning buildings. His obsession with passive solar design has saved our clients thousands in energy costs.
These aren't just words on a wall - they're how we actually work
Every decision we make considers environmental impact. From materials to energy systems, we're constantly asking "can we do this greener?" It's not about being trendy - it's about leaving the planet better than we found it.
Buildings are for people, not portfolios. We spend tons of time understanding how folks actually use spaces - not how we think they should. The best compliment? When someone says "this just feels right."
We love trying new things, but not just for the sake of being different. Every innovative approach needs to solve a real problem or make something genuinely better. Cool factor alone doesn't cut it around here.
No sugarcoating, no architect-speak that nobody understands. If something's gonna cost more or take longer, we'll tell you straight up. Our clients appreciate the honesty, even when it's not what they wanna hear.
A great building respects its neighborhood. We study the local architecture, the street vibe, how people move through the area. Our projects should feel like they belong, not like they landed from another planet.
We're not trying to be the biggest firm in Toronto. We're selective about projects because we wanna give each one the attention it deserves. Better to do fewer things exceptionally well than spread ourselves thin.
Our studio's pretty relaxed - you'll find us in jeans more often than suits. But don't mistake casual for unfocused. When it comes to design, we're intense. Every Tuesday, the whole team gets together for what we call "brutal honesty hour" where we critique each other's work. Sounds harsh, but it's how we get better.
We've got architects, urban planners, interior designers, and even a landscape architect on the team. Different perspectives mean better solutions. Plus, working with smart people who challenge your ideas keeps things interesting.
Work-life balance isn't just corporate talk here. Yeah, sometimes deadlines mean late nights, but we make sure nobody's burning out. Mental health matters, creativity needs rest, and honestly - tired architects make mistakes.
